Began career in advertising, designing and producing calendars for major corporations such as Standard Oil, Nehi Colas Bottling Co., Pabst, Coors, Caterpillar and Allis Chalmmers.
Moved to southern California, and began work at Cinema Arts designing and producing artwork for major motion picture studios such as MGM, Universal, Paramount, 20th Century-Fox and Walt Disney. Set up photo studio in Hollywood and began doing celebrity portraits to supplement income.
Was hired by the Walt Disney Studio in Burbank, California to create motion picture ad campaigns.
Began color photography of the California landscape. Took first major trip to the northwest and Canada. Fell in love with the beauty of the western landscape in the National Parks.
Met Ansel Adams on the beach on a trip to Carmel. Viewed his black and white prints at his home, conferred on technical aspects of making the fine print. Began serious black and white photography of the landscape.
Enrolled in Ansel Adams workshop on the first trip to Yosemite.
Executive producer of the full-length feature motion picture, "Seven Wonders of the West", for major theatrical release.
Studio and commercial/architectural work became prominent factor.
Continues studio work, portraits which evolve into wedding photography. Enrolls in the Art Center School of Photography in Pasadena, California.
Buys 4x5 Omega view camera and makes first large format black and white photographs of the California landscape.
Makes trip of the Southwest, covering more than 5000 miles, to photograph the landscape with large format camera. Builds fully appointed darkroom to develop and print large format images.
Publishes book of black and white photography, "The Magnificent Light"--with introduction by Dale Evans Rogers. Makes book tour with signings at Waldenbook stores. After photo session at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park, California, begins long association with Roy Rogers and Dales Evans, doing portraiture for Roy Rogers Restaurants.
